One of the most common questions we hear at Team JUH is: what does the process actually look like? How long does it take? What do I need to provide? What happens at each stage? In this post, we walk through our entire website launch process from start to finish — so there are no surprises.
Stage 1: Discovery Call (Week 1)
Every project starts with a discovery call — usually 45 to 60 minutes. We want to understand your business, your goals, your audience, your competitors, and what you are trying to achieve with this website. We ask a lot of questions. This call shapes the entire project, so we take it seriously.
After the call, we produce a project proposal that outlines scope, timeline, deliverables, and investment. No hidden fees, no moving goalposts.
Stage 2: Strategy and Planning (Week 2)
Once the project is confirmed, we move into strategy. We map out your site structure (every page, its purpose, and how they connect), define your primary and secondary audiences, choose the right platform (WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, or Next.js), and plan the SEO foundation. This stage is not glamorous — but it is where good websites are made or broken.
Stage 3: Design (Weeks 3–4)
We create wireframes first — the layout and structure of each page, without visual styling. This lets you review the logic and flow before we apply design. Once wireframes are approved, we build high-fidelity mockups of the key pages, applying your brand colours, typography, imagery, and visual style. You see exactly what the site will look like before any development begins.
Stage 4: Development (Weeks 5–7)
Approved designs go into development. We build on a private staging environment so you can review progress without anything being visible to your audience. For WordPress and WooCommerce sites, we build custom themes and configure plugins. For Next.js sites, we build from the framework up. Speed, accessibility, and SEO best practices are built in from the first line of code.
Stage 5: Review, Testing, and Launch (Week 8)
Before launch, we run thorough testing: cross-browser compatibility, mobile responsiveness, form submissions, load speed, SEO settings, and security configuration. You get a final review period. Once everything is approved, we handle the launch — domain pointing, SSL, final speed checks — and your site goes live. We monitor closely in the 48 hours after launch to catch anything unexpected.
Stage 6: Ongoing Support
Launch is not the end. We offer ongoing support and maintenance plans that keep your site updated, secure, and performing well. As your business grows, we grow your site with you — adding pages, features, integrations, and content over time.
